First Friday event features interactive art, poetry

First Friday Art Discovery Day at Prairie Winds Art Center in Holyoke will feature a presentation of interactive art and performance poetry by Cathy Casper of Denver on Friday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m.

Casper is a poet whose writing is inspired by art as well as the natural environment.  She a member of Inspire, a small group of local artists who represent the art disciplines of textiles, painting and poetry.

She will relate her poems to paintings and quilts in the Prairie Winds gallery as well as art pieces created by members of Inspire.

Casper has spent most of her adult life getting acquainted with different parts of Colorado. For several decades she lived in Red Cliff along creeks in a valley tightly hemmed in by mountains. Since 2010 she has lived in cities along the Front Range.
