Food drive donations pile up at MMH
Last week, Melissa Memorial Hospital wrapped up its first-ever summer food drive with an impressive 1,749 items of food that were destined for local food banks. The spirit committee put together a competition for the hospital departments in June because they recognized the need for food donations in the summer, not just around the holidays when they normally hold food drives. Family Practice of Holyoke was named the winner with its employees donating the most items of food. MMH and MMH Foundation employees were on hand to count and package the food Friday, June 23.
