Good eats, good beats

A constant flow of people enjoyed a plate of food served up by FFA members from Holyoke and Haxtun at the Phillips County Fair barbecue Friday, July 27. Colby Purkeypile, a senior at Holyoke High School, kept the room happy by singing and playing familiar songs. Last year, the fair moved the barbecue indoors because of the weather, and this year, the barbecue was planned in the Event Center’s Biesemeier Room from the beginning due to positive comments. It was a good thing because rain clouds were looming and the fairgrounds were a sloppy mess Friday evening.
