Haxtun is collection site for Operation Christmas Child

This month, several locations in the multicounty northern Colorado area team will serve as drop-off sites for the Samaritan's Purse project Operation Christmas Child — joining nearly 5,000 U.S. locations collecting gift-filled shoeboxes for children in need around the world.
During the project's national collection week, Nov. 13-20, Holyoke residents will transform empty shoeboxes into gifts of hope filled with school supplies, hygiene items and fun toys. Operation Christmas Child will deliver these shoebox gifts to children affected by war, disease, disaster, poverty and famine.
Completed shoeboxes can be dropped off at Berean Bible Church at 137 W. Bryan St. in Haxtun. From Nov. 13-20, drop-off hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-noon and 5-7 p.m.; Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.; Sunday, noon-2 p.m.; and Monday, 9-11 a.m.
