Here’s your second chance to see steam locomotive
Communities have a second chance to see Union Pacific’s iconic steam locomotive Big Boy No. 4014 during its return trip home to Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Monday, Aug. 5, a 45-minute stop is scheduled in Kearney, Nebraska, at 5th Avenue at 10:30 a.m. CDT, followed by 45 minutes in Cozad, Nebraska, at Old Depot at 12:45 p.m. CDT. Big Boy should be arriving in North Platte, Nebraska, at East Front Street at 3 p.m. CDT.
A display will also be set up in North Platte from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. CDT Tuesday, Aug. 6.
Wednesday, Aug. 7, Big Boy will stop for 45 minutes at the South Spruce Street crossing in Ogallala, Nebraska, at 9:45 a.m. MST, followed by a 45-minute stop at Vincent Avenue in Chappell, Nebraska, at noon MST. It should arrive in Sidney, Nebraska, at 10th Street at 1:45 p.m. MST.
