Holiday cooking classes offered at Ballyneal

Maybe it’s a date or extra preparation to awe the in-laws at the holidays. Perhaps it’s a chance to get an inside look at the professional kitchen. Cooking classes offer the fun chance to try something new with the guidance of passionate chefs.
A Very Prairie Holiday Cooking Class is the latest program offered by the City of Holyoke recreation department, in coordination with Ballyneal Golf Club.
There will be two opportunities to take the class. The first, Sunday, Nov. 12, from 2-5:30 p.m. has a registration deadline of Wednesday, Nov. 8. The second class, Sunday, Nov. 19, from 2-5:30 p.m. has a Wednesday, Nov. 15, deadline. Both classes are the same, so sign up for either, but do so soon because space is limited.
Participants in the class will learn to prepare unique holiday side dishes. They will be taught by Ballyneal chef Ace Linne-Speidel and sous-chef Lexee Reichert, but students will be doing hands-on cooking. “We believe that the best approach to learning is to do it,” said Linne-Speidel.
