Holyoke 6-man team named champions at district fire races

    Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department raced to a first-place finish in the six-man competition at the district fire races Sunday, June 4, in Akron.
    Participating on the HVFD six-man team were Bob Heldenbrand, Stacy Rueter, Logan Zeiler, Shawn Maloney, Scott Korte, Spencer Kotch and Dustin Carrick.
    Events for the six-man team included motor replacement, first place, :25.23; extended wye, first place, :19.63; street wye, second place, :17.70; and Chicago race, second place, :20.23.
    Holyoke’s three-man team tied for second place with team members Zeiler, Maloney, Korte, Kotch and Carrick.
