Holyoke Alumni Association plans to hold first reunion in 3 years

After a long, hard time dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, the Holyoke High School Alumni Association plans to organize its first reunion in three years. This 117th annual celebration is set for Sunday, May 28, at Sunset View Homes along Kellogg Street to honor the graduating classes of Phillips County High School and Holyoke High School.

Featured classes include those from the following years: 1953, 1963, 1973, 1983, 1993, 2003, 2013 and 2023.

“Everybody can come, but we have the seating set for these years,” Association President Helen Miller said.

For the reunion, Happy Jacks Barbeque will provide the food. The meal will include roast beef, corn, tossed salad, potatoes and peach cobbler for dessert. Holyoke’s 4-H Club, the Challengers, will help serve the meal. Entertainment and speakers are to be determined shortly.

Ticket prices have risen some due to inflation, though the Alumni Association noted it “makes no profit from this banquet,” and solely hopes to pay for expenses and have funds available to start the upcoming year.

Reservations for the event must be entered by May 19, including the following: name and class, spouse’s name and class, guest’s name and class, and a payment of $30. The Alumni Association notes to please include maiden names.

Checks must be made out to the HHS Alumni Association. Reservations must be mailed to Donna Lutze at 735 S. Coleman, Holyoke, CO 80734.

“We will not be able to refund no-shows or tickets bought at the door,” the Association stated. Those who would like to be included on the mailing list are invited to send a personal email address along with the reservation.
