Holyoke Community Childcare Director is Preparing for Staffing Needs

 The Holyoke Community Childcare Initiative (HCCI) to be their Director of operations. She was hired in October, 2023 by the HCCI board and has been preparing for the facility to become operational at a projected time of early 2025 as the Holyoke Community Childcare. 

Alberts had previously worked as a Director in the Children’s Workshop in Ft Collins, CO which was a family owned childcare facility that served toddlers, preschool and pre K. 

Her tasks in preparing the facility to open and be operational include the Policies and Procedures and the many components in recruiting and training qualified staff members. 

“We are projecting there will be a need for 16 full time employees that will include a commercial kitchen,” she said. Many of the positions to be filled will have licensing requirements that need to be met. Those requirements can be met through a combination of direct experience and formal education. 

Alberts has been communicating with other childcare facilities and colleagues for input on all the things that need to be considered when operating a start-up to include the many regulations for childcare in Colorado. 

Construction of the facility located on South Worley Ave in Holyoke is projected to break ground in late spring of this year, pending the conclusion of the bid process on April 16. The 11,500 square foot building will have a capacity to serve 100 children
