Hometown Heroes

The Holyoke Enterprise is shining a light on local heroes who are stepping up to serve their community during the coronavirus pandemic.

Holly Ferguson

“I want to nominate Holly Ferguson, executive director of the Holyoke of Chamber of Commerce, for the hometown hero. She has worked tirelessly to help our community and local businesses survive the COVID-19 pandemic. She organized a countywide food drive to not only help Holyoke but Haxtun too. She helped organize and create the Help Holyoke Fund. She has put in numerous hours to learn everything she can about grants and loans to help our local businesses survive this rough time. Her position is part time, but there are many weeks that she is working full time on the efforts to help our local businesses. She has gone out of her way to reach out to many of the businesses that had to close to see if she could help them. She has been a huge asset to local businesses during this most difficult time! We are very lucky to have her!” — Anonymous

Holyoke Marketplace

“The employees of Holyoke Marketplace have been so friendly, cheerful and helpful during these difficult times. They are working extra hard to provide a safe and clean store and have also blessed many people with their online ordering option. Keep it up!” — Anonymous
