Kids’ clinic celebrates 25 years of fishing fun

Spring break ushered in spring a little early, with temps reaching 87 degrees in Holyoke over the weekend. Sunny weather made Friday, March 17, a perfect day to get outside for the fishing clinic sponsored by Holyoke Lions Club in conjunction with Colorado Parks & Wildlife.
Eighteen kids learned about different types of fish, the regulations associated with fishing, and how to bait and cast a fishing rod. Then they put their knowledge to practice when they eagerly tested the waters at the fishing pond. District Wildlife Managers Kyle Gordon of Holyoke, Mason Allen of Sterling and Justin Morris of Brush were on hand to help with the clinic.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Lions Fishin’ Hole, located just east of Holyoke on Highway 6.
