HPD and EMS assemble kits for mission trip

Holyoke police and EMS teamed up May 30 to assemble tourniquet kits for Sgt. Mark Werts’ upcoming week-long mission trip to San Salvador, El Salvador. Far exceeding his goal of 50, Werts raised enough money to purchase 162 tourniquets, and additional medical supplies, including gauze, gloves and tape, were donated by Melissa Memorial Hospital and Global Samaritan Resource.
