Kids have fun painting at reading program

To combat the heat of summer, many children sit under the veranda of Heginbotham Library as they participate in this year’s summer reading program.

Kathy Bornhoft, librarian, is in charge of the reading program over the summer. While the kids have their choice of books to read for the program, Bornhoft wanted to focus on the arts for their in- person sessions.

“They’ve been stuck behind computers all year, and they might want some art,” she said.

Alongside reading 30 books for the program, on Thursday, June 10, the children learned how to do paint pouring.
