After a few seconds of riding, a wild sheep tosses Montana Benson into the mud during the mutton bustin’ portion of Thursday’s ranch rodeo. Her experience resembled the anticipation of a county fair during pandemic times. So many unknowns and new tactics surrounded the plans with regard to distancing and guidelines for public gatherings. It took a whole lot of effort by a whole lot of people, but the 2020 Phillips County Fair is in the books as a grand event that let the community enjoy a bit of normalcy during unprecedented times.
