Fire Protection mill levy question too close to call
Still needing to count 21 landowner ballots at 10 p.m. Tuesday night, the Holyoke Fire Protection District mill levy increase election was too close to call. The Phillips and Sedgwick county vote tally showed the question was passing, 198-190. Phillips County Clerk Beth Zilla was on a conference call to attempt to rectify a glitch so that the final ballots could be counted.
Other ballot issues in Phillips County showed success in a mill levy override measure for Haxtun School District and for a Town of Haxtun sales tax increase proposal.
