Lions Club cribbage tourney to raise funds for firefighter goggles
Lions Clubs around the world put a focus on eyesight and protecting the eyes, and that’s why Holyoke Lions Club decided to host a fundraiser to purchase new goggles for members of Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department. Showcasing the goggles are, from left, Lions Club member Darrell Lemmon, HVFD chief Stacy Rueter, HVFD first assistant Gabe Hubbard and Terry Barth of the Holyoke Vets Club. Lions Club members will be holding a cribbage tournament Monday, Feb. 28, at 5:30 p.m. at Holyoke Vets Club. Throughout the evening, food from Happy Jacks Barbeque will be available in addition to other refreshments. The tournament entry fee covers a team of two. Personalized cribbage boards are the prizes for the two players in the winning team. The deadline to sign up a team is Saturday, Feb. 26. Contact Lemmon at 970-580-8303, Rueter at 970-520-7758 or Hubbard at 970-466-0791. — The Holyoke Enterprise
