Local Christmas church services begin Sunday

    As Christmas nears, local churches have announced special services scheduled to celebrate the holiday. They begin Sunday, Dec. 23, with others planned Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24-25. For church address and contact information, see “Where to Worship” on Page 3 of the Enterprise.
    First Baptist Church and Vida Abundante will have a combined 5:30 p.m. Christmas Eve service. Vida Abundante’s kids Christmas program is scheduled Sunday, Dec. 23, at 5:30 p.m.
    First Christian Church will have a 5 p.m. candlelight service on Christmas Eve.
    First United Methodist Church is hosting a 7 p.m. Christmas Eve Service.
    Holyoke Assembly of God will have a Christmas-themed service with special music Sunday, Dec. 23, at 10:30 a.m. A 6:30 p.m. Christmas Eve service is scheduled as well.
    Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church will have a 5 p.m. Christmas Eve service.
    St. Patrick Catholic Church is hosting Mass in Holyoke at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 8 a.m. Christmas Day.
    St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will have Christmas Eve services at 4:30 p.m. in Venango, Nebraska, and 6 p.m. in Amherst. A Christmas Day service is scheduled for 9 a.m. in Amherst.
    Venango Community Church will have a 6 p.m. candlelight service on Christmas Eve.
    Zion Lutheran Church is hosting a 5 p.m. candlelight service on Christmas Eve and a 9 a.m. service Christmas Day.
    Zion Lutheran Church Ministerio Hispano will have its Christmas-themed service Sunday, Dec. 23, at 11:30 a.m., and presents will be given to the children afterward. On Monday, Dec. 31, there will be a New Year’s celebration at 8 p.m.
