Local churches plan Christmas services
With Christmas on the way, many area churches have special services planned for Christmas Eve on Saturday, Dec. 24, and Christmas Day on Sunday, Dec. 25.
First Christian Church, Cornerstone Ministry, First Baptist Church and Holyoke Church of Christ are hosting a community Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. at the Heginbotham Auditorium in Holyoke JR/SR High School.
First Baptist Church and Vida Abundante are combining for a Christmas Eve service at 5:30 p.m. The Dec. 25 services will be regular for both churches: 10:30 a.m. for FBC and 5:30 p.m. for Vida Abundante.
Cornerstone will have their regular service at 9 a.m.
Fairfield Covenant Church will meet on Christmas Day with a coffee hour at 8 a.m. and a service to follow.
First Christian Church will have a Christmas Day service at 10 a.m.
First United Methodist Church’s candlelight service is Christmas Eve at 7 p.m. and Christmas day at 9 a.m.
Holyoke Assembly of God will have a Christmas Eve service at 6:30 p.m. with communion and a regular service on Christmas Day at 10:30 a.m.
Holyoke Church of Christ will have their regular service on Dec. 25 at 9 a.m. followed by Bible class at 10 a.m.
Ministerio Hispano is meeting on Jan. 1 at 5 p.m., with dinner provided, to celebrate Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years.
Pleasant Valley United Methodist will have a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m. and Christmas Day at 11 a.m.
St. Patrick Catholic Church will have Mass on Christmas Eve at 4 p.m. and Christmas Day at 8 a.m. For those experiencing a loss, a Service of Light for Healing will be offered on Dec. 21 at 7 p.m.
Christ the King’s Mass is on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m. in Haxtun.
St. Peter the Apostle’s Christmas Eve Mass will meet at 8 p.m. in Fleming. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amherst will have a Christmas Eve service at 6:30 p.m. and a Christmas Day service at 10:15 a.m.
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Venango, Nebraska will have a Christmas Eve service at 4:30 p.m. and a Christmas Day service at 8:30 p.m.
Venango Community Church will have a Christmas play and candlelight service beginning at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Zion Lutheran church will have a candlelight service at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve, a Christmas Day service at 9:30 a.m. and a New Year’s Day service at 9:30 a.m.
