Man arrested for attempted sexual assault on a child
According to a press release from the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office, PCSO conducted an investigation Friday, Oct. 4, into a male party identified as Adan Barbosa Lopez, 39, of Holyoke, after it was discovered that he arranged for a meeting with an adolescent female for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
On the evening of Sunday, Oct. 6, an operation by PCSO, with the assistance of the Holyoke and Haxtun police departments, resulted in the arrest of Barbosa Lopez after he agreed to meet an adolescent female to engage in a sexual encounter.
He is being held on the following charges without bond until he is advised:
— Attempted sexual assault on a child (class 5 felony).
— Internet sexual exploitation of a child (class 4 felony).
— Internet luring of a child (class 4 felony).
— Enticement of a child (class 4 felony).
