Martin Luther’s teaching still relevant 500 years later
On Sunday, July 23, at 2 p.m. at Julesburg High School, 106 W. 6th St., the public is invited to “The Masks of God: Luther on Our Worldly Callings,” presented by Rev. Dr. Martin E. Conklin, retired professor of religion at Concordia College, New York.
The event is hosted by St. Paul Lutheran Church of Julesburg and Zion Lutheran Church of Big Springs, Nebraska, to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the reformation of Christ’s church.
Many people know Martin Luther as a Christian who helped spark a movement that changed the world 500 years ago, but it is surprising how much he would know about important everyday matters in today’s environment, such as marriage, raising children, working hard to make a living, the fulfilling of roles in society, public education, etc.
