Mental health walk set for April 10
Open to all youth ages 12-18, Phillips County Walks Together is an event focused on mental health and is scheduled at the Phillips County Event Center and walking path Saturday, April 10, from 1-3:30 p.m.
Intended to be educational and resourceful, the event will provide awareness, as well as tools for recognition and response.
During the 1-2:30 p.m. walking portion of the event, youth will learn about the feelings and challenges that teens face today and how mental health can be affected.
From 2:30-3:30 p.m., the group will then make kindness rocks in Homesteaders Park.
Colorado State University Extension, Phillips County 4-H and Centennial Mental Health are teaming up for this educational activity. Those planning to participate can register by calling the Extension office at 970-854-3616 by Friday, April 9.
