Nearly 500 community members take advantage of health fair blood draws
Driven by the overarching goal to make the community healthier, Melissa Memorial Hospital hosted its annual health fair Oct. 20, offering a number of free and discounted services to the people of Holyoke. The fair itself was the culmination of several other clinics offered by MMH in the previous weeks.
Discounted blood work and flu shots saw the biggest draw this year. In clinics the week of Oct. 8-12, 440 people had blood drawn and about 425 received flu shots. At the health fair, an additional 29 blood draws were done and 25 flu shots given.
