Camping World bringing 150-200 new jobs to Sidney

SCOTTSBLUFF STAR-HERALD, Aug. 11 — A major RV and camping equipment dealership has announced plans to locate in Sidney, Nebraska.

Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis met with community leaders Monday and announced on Facebook that his company would be adding dealership and distribution locations in Sidney and Lincoln, Nebraska.

Expectations are that the business would bring 150-200 jobs to Sidney. Approximately 50-60 of those jobs would be in the retail dealership and offices.

Demolition brings down historic church

JULESBURG ADVOCATE, Aug. 14 — Final demolition of the old Methodist church at 102 W. 4th St., Julesburg, began Monday morning, and in a matter of hours, only rubble and blue skies were left. Items of the church that could be repurposed or reused have now been removed. Many of the repurposed items are being included in the Antiques and Artisans building remodel.

 

Wray’s much aniticipated Main Street improvement underway

WRAY GAZETTE, Aug. 12 — After years of planning, designing and securing the financial resources required, the Wray Main Street Improvement Project officially got underway Monday morning with street closures and initial work beginning in the block between Third and Fourth streets.

Steve Ross brings father’s famous technique to Sterling area painters

STERLING JOURNAL-ADVOCATE, AUG. 22 — Steve Ross is following in his father’s footsteps, and for a few days this past week those footsteps brought him to Sterling.

Ross, son of PBS Television icon Bob Ross, and his partner Dana Jester held a week-long workshop on the 16th-century oil painting technique known as “wet-on-wet,” made famous by Bob Ross. Sixteen people attended, paying $125 a day for the experience.

At 54, the tall, lanky Steve Ross is as soft-spoken as his famous father and, while his brush technique is his own, watching him work will bring back memories for anyone who watched “Joy of Painting” during its 11-year run on PBS.
