Aurora Dairy plans put on hold
IMPERIAL REPUBLICAN, Oct. 15 — The conditional use permit for a 2,880-head organic dairy northwest of Imperial, Nebraska, has expired. A spokesperson for Aurora Organic Dairy said last week their plans remain on hold for now.
The company received a conditional use permit in June 2018 for the facility to be located on the west half of Section 11, Township 7 North, Range 39 West.

Pace reports Haxtun Health’s purchase of old Smith Hardware building in downtown Haxtun
HAXTUN-FLEMING HERALD, Oct. 14 — With significant growth in many of the services now offered at Haxtun Health comes the possible need for expansion. While exact plans for the new space is still unknown at this time, Haxtun Health has purchased the old Smith Hardware building in downtown Haxtun, which gives the organization potential opportunities for future growth.

Cameron Peak fire now largest in Colorado history after winds fuel explosive growth
DENVER POST, Oct. 14 — Wind gusts as high as 76 mph fueled explosive growth of the Cameron Peak fire west of Fort Collins on Wednesday, helping push the 2-month-old wildfire across nearly 23,000 new acres and making it the largest in Colorado’s recorded history.
The wildfire, which ignited Aug. 13 and survived more than a foot of early September snowfall, grew to 158,300 acres, or about 247 square miles, on Wednesday, firefighting officials reported in an evening briefing.

Wanted man shot after foot chase
STERLING JOURNAL-ADVOCATE, Oct. 8 — A man the Sterling Police Department has been searching for in connection with a shooting incident last week has been identified as the man shot by a Sterling police officer Tuesday night.
According to a release from SPD, officers received a report that Douglas Sanchez, 54, of Sterling, was at the Eagle convenience store in the 900 block of West Main Street. Sanchez was suspected of shooting at another man on Sept. 30 in the 800 block of North Sixth Street; the victim was uninjured.
