Marijuana brought up at Julesburg board meeting

JULESBURG ADVOCATE, Sept. 10 — Town Manager Greg Nein told the Julesburg Town Board at its Sept. 7 meeting that Mike Harrison of MiMar, the developer for the Campbell addition, is now turning his interests to the I-76 property. Harrison is not the owner of the property, but his partner Mark Hernandez (who died earlier this year) had been involved with the property, along with a group of investors.

Nein said Harrison would be interested in purchasing the I-76 property if he and his investors could obtain a marijuana grow/distribution license. Nein said if Harrison could get the property and license, he could help with the streets at the Campbell addition.

This opened the board up to discussion of allowing the sale and distribution of marijuana within Julesburg.

Julesburg overwhelmingly has said “No” to marijuana in a countywide vote, and two times more in municipal elections.
