Deputies posted to protect board of trustees
STERLING JOURNAL-ADVOCATE, Nov. 10 — Iliff Town Board met under the watchful eye of Logan County Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday night. The deputies have been on civil standby for board meetings for the past several weeks after an incident in the town office almost a month ago.

The town doesn’t have an actual town hall but shares office space with the Iliff Head Start school. Sorensen said the resident in question, whom she declined to identify, threatened some of the Head Start employees and Town Clerk Karen Batman.

Todd Burpo releases new book
IMPERIAL REPUBLICAN, Nov. 9 — Todd Burpo, author of “Heaven is for Real,” released a new book in September called “God is for Real: And He Longs to Answer Your Most Difficult Questions.”
The book was co-authored with David Drury, pastor, author and chief of staff for the international headquarters of the Wesleyan Church.
Unlike the book “Heaven is for Real,” which is a memoir of events that happened, “God is for Real” deals with hard questions about life experiences and provides godly answers for those situations, said Burpo.
