FORT MORGAN TIMES, Aug. 20 — Engineers and executives from Western Sugar Cooperative can now proceed with their plans to make required upgrades to their facility off Interstate 76.
According to vice president of Western Sugar, Heather Luther, the State did respond to Western Sugar’s proposal to restructure their wastewater system.
On Friday, Aug. 17, Kelly Morgan, the Clean Water Enforcement Manager for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Water Quality Control Division, sent general approval of Western Sugar’s proposed alternative wastewater treatment plan but addressed several concerns that the State had with the plan.
Western Sugar proposed that they’d discharge their wastewater to the City of Fort Morgan’s Wastewater Treatment Facility. The State agreed that it was a viable option for the company but had reason to believe that there may be an issue given the amount of wastewater in question.

IMPERIAL REPUBLICAN, Aug. 23 — A disputed hospital bill between City and County officials has surfaced again.
