MCC progresses toward BSN, receives major endowment
WRAY GAZETTE, Oct. 3 — Morgan Community College continues to progress toward adding a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing to the college’s growing list of program options.
During a special meeting of the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education in July, MCC and six other Colorado Community College System colleges received approval to proceed with developing BSN programs.
The Colorado General Assembly authorized colleges within the CCCS to develop BSN programs during its winter 2018 legislative session.
A major step toward developing the BSN at MCC is to obtain approval from the Higher Learning Commission to offer baccalaureate degrees at the college. The initial request for BSN approval was submitted Aug. 31.

Petition circulating to put marijuana back on the ballot
JULESBURG ADVOCATE, Sept. 21 — Former Julesburg Mayor Ken Berges and former Julesburg trustee Jon Atkins are soliciting a petition once again to legalize the sale of marijuana within Julesburg. The two men only have to submit 37 valid signatures to get the vote in front of the people.
Julesburg has voted down the measure in two previous elections, and the county vote mirrored the Julesburg vote.
