Saxton and CBI detective honored
YUMA PIONEER, Nov. 1 — The Colorado Bureau of Investigation presented a Citizen Appreciation Award to Laura Saxton of Yuma during the CBI awards ceremony on Oct. 24. She was honored for her dedication and efforts to raise awareness and support for families in search of loved ones who are missing in Colorado.

MCC wine-making program draws interest
STERLING JOURNAL-ADVOCATE, Oct. 31 — Morgan Community College continues to explore the feasibility of setting up a two-year degree program to educate students in the art and science of growing grapes and making wine, according to MCC President Dr. Curt Freed.
“We’re definitely further along in forming ideas,” he said while speaking about the college’s progress on this idea at a Fort Morgan Chamber of Commerce Lunch and Learn program over the summer.
“It really is something that has taken the community by a very significant interest,” Freed said. “There’s really good indicators for us to move forward.”

Saturday afternoon blaze burns 800+ acres
HAXTUN-FLEMING HERALD, Oct. 31 — Six local fire departments responded to a grass fire just a few miles south of I-76 in Logan County Saturday, Oct. 27.
According to Logan County emergency manager Jerry Casebolt, the fire originated in a pasture between county roads 91 and 93 at County Road 46.
