Two dead in Armel home fire
    WRAY GAZETTE, Dec. 19 — At approximately 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, the Armel Fire Department, Idalia Fire Department and Yuma County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a residential structure fire in the area of County Roads 18 and RR. Although fire crews responded to the scene within minutes of the call, the structure was a total loss.
    After deputies on scene received information that indicated there were two people who resided at the residence, measures were taken to secure the scene for investigatory purposes.
    With the assistance of investigators from the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control and Forensic Anthropologists from NecroSearch International, the remains of two individuals were located within the remains of the structure.

Update given on Julesburg pool project
    JULESBURG ADVOCATE, Dec. 14 — Sedgwick County Organized Recreation board members Patty Carter and Jennifer Lanckriet were on hand to give an update to town trustees on the Julesburg pool project.
    Projected costs for the project are $2.5 million, and the group is in its fundraising mode.
    Carter and Lanckriet provided brochures that included the pool’s layout along with the bathhouse to be built.
    The pair projected that the demolition of the current facility could be done in 2019, and the construction phase would take place in 2020.
