KCCHSD introduces hyperbaric oxygen therapy
BURLINGTON RECORD, Jan. 24 — Kit Carson County Health Service District announced the opening of a new service that offers advanced wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients suffering from radiation therapy injury, crush injuries, acute carbon monoxide poisoning and nonhealing wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers and other chronic wounds.
The new location in Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital in Burlington features an individualized hyperbaric oxygen chamber, large TV set to entertain patients during their two-hour treatments and patient examination rooms.

Haxtun BOE discusses options for new bleachers
HAXTUN-FLEMING HERALD, Jan. 23 — Discussion on new bleachers in the big gym took up the majority of an hour-and-a-half meeting of the Haxtun Board of Education last week. Members discussed options for capacity, colors, backrests and seat sizes — all decisions that will need to be made in the near future to have the bleachers ordered in time to be installed over summer break once the gym floor surface is finished.
Superintendent Darcy Garretson presented a number of options. A basic set of bleachers, without any backrests, she said, would cost the district about $133,000. To add backrests to all of the north (or home side) section of bleachers would increase the total to $155,000.
