Preparing for D-Day Anniversary
    JULESBURG ADVOCATE, May 24 — Marcus Green, son of Sharon Green and husband of Bailey (Orth) Green, was in charge of the paratrooper rehearsal jump at Mont Saint Michel in northern France this weekend. U.S. paratroopers are preparing for the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings by jumping from a C-130 sporting the striped markings used by allied aircraft on June 6, 1944.
    
Logan County OKs hemp processing facility
    STERLING JOURNAL-ADVOCATE, May 22 — It took the Logan County Commissioners less than five minutes Tuesday to approve the county’s first hemp processing facility.
    The action came in two parts and on a recommendation for approval from the Logan County Planning and Zoning Commission.
    The first part of the action was to change the zoning classification of a parcel of land at 14273 Highway 14 west of Sterling from commercial to agricultural. The property had been “spot zoned” commercial sometime in the early 1970s but was surrounded by ag-zoned land. Since that time, spot zoning has become illegal, so it made sense to change the zoning anyway.
