NFR Gala spurs another fun event

“Let’s do that again,” said many of those who attended last year’s National Finals Rodeo Gala.
According to Phillips County Administrator Randy Schafer, last year’s event was a success. The committee to raise funds for the new Pavilion and Education Center at the Phillips County Fairgrounds is planning round two.
After collecting almost $19,000 from the fundraising event last year, the committee has decided to sponsor the NFR Gala again as funds are still needed to complete the building project.
The Gala is set for Saturday, Dec. 16, which is the finale of the NFR in Las Vegas, Nevada. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and televised viewing of the rodeo will be provided on big screens in Heginbotham Hall as well as in the Biesemeier Room at the Phillips County Event Center.
In addition to the televised finals rodeo, Happy Jacks Barbeque will cater a buffet meal, Night Sound DJ will provide music for enjoyment or dancing and a mechanical bull will be on site for fun. Four different auctions will be held throughout the evening, including live, silent, mad hatter and a reverse raffle.
