The North Pole is coming to Holyoke
Sponsored by the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce, Holyoke will be treated to a vision of the North Pole Monday, Dec. 3, as Country Christmas again rings in the holiday season.
The 21st annual Parade of Lights will begin at 6:30 p.m., starting near the Golden Plains Motel and moving north on Interocean Avenue. The parade is sponsored by Highline Electric Association and PC Telcom.
At 4 p.m., the fun will kick off at the Phillips County Museum, where free pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be offered, along with hot cider and cookies. Photos will be taken from 4-6 p.m. and from 7 p.m. on.
Peerless Theatre will start its free kids showing of “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” at 4:30 p.m. and let out at 6:10 p.m. Immediately afterward, the Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department will provide candy bags for the kids.
HVFD will be serving a soup supper from 5-8 p.m. at the Vets Hall and will also be accepting freewill donations to benefit next year’s July 4 fireworks.
Home-based businesses and organizations will host a gathering in the Peerless Center gym. Other home-based businesses will be at the Viaero Wireless building along with cookies and beverages.
Holyoke Lions Club will be offering cider in front of the mini park, at the stoplight downtown, where businesses are decking their windows with holiday decorations.
A hay ride around town starting at Country Treasures Floral & More will also start at 4 p.m. and run until 8 p.m., with a pause for the parade at 6:30 p.m. The hay rides will be provided courtesy of the Kafka family.
