Open Wheel Mayhem Saturday at PC Raceway

Phillips County Raceway plans a full show filled with fan appreciation, sprint cars and musical entertainment Saturday, May 12, starting at 6 p.m. at the fairgrounds in Holyoke. Pegged as “Open Wheel Mayhem and IMCA Madness,” the show promises to be full of action.
Weather postponed opening races several times this year, but PC Raceway finally got its first races of the season in April 28. Some of the special sprint car activities were postponed and will be included in this weekend’s event.
Armbands with April 14 written on the back have been given out by local businesses. These will be honored for admission Saturday, noted promoter Joe Bellm with BST Racing.
The URSS IMCA sprint car spring nationals, plus the USAC lightning sprints will be highlighted Saturday evening.
They join the other race divisions of late models, modifieds, stock cars, sport mods, hobby stocks, compacts and dwarfs for a full evening of top entertainment.
New to the Raceway arena for the May 12 event will be Katy Grace who goes by Whiskey Kate, as she entertains with country and blues music.
Whiskey Kate will perform the national anthem and will sing after the races in the beer garden.
