Party in the Park kicks off weekend fun

Filled with various things to do, Party in the Park at Holyoke City Park was a fun- filled beginning to the weekend. After not having the 2020 Dandelion Daze due to COVID-19, the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce decided to make the event happen over two days instead of one.

Party in the Park began on Friday, June 18, at 5 p.m. with a Show and Shine in the Cobblestone Inn parking lot.

What followed was Dance Fuzion showing their dance routine to the audience. All of the members were expressive during the dance and seemed to love what they were doing. The members were met with loud applause after their routine was finished.

Close to 300 people were served dinner by Holyoke Volunteer Fire Department. At the serving tables, the fire department laid down two firefighter boots which they used for a fill the boot donation.

Overall, the donation raised around $1,800 for the HVFD.

“It was great. I thought it was awesome and a great turnout,” fire chief Stacy Rueter said about both the donation and the event.
