Peek into the past

Dandelion Daze provides good old-fashioned family fun

Even though storm clouds threatened the Phillips County Courthouse lawn Saturday afternoon, the 17th annual Dandelion Daze wrapped up a great day without too many bumps in the road.
The June 17 family-friendly event, sponsored by Holyoke Chamber of Commerce, offered a car show, vendors, kids’ activities, a poker run and a 5K race.
Chamber director Elizabeth Hutches said she is very excited about how the day went and is honored to be part of such a long tradition in Holyoke.
The car show boasted 46 entries and a colorful blast from the past for car enthusiasts.
This year’s Top Gun award was won by Ron Guernsey of Paoli with his 1934 Ford Tudor Sedan. Taking home the People’s Choice award was Matt Meusborn of Haxtun with his 1953 Willys Jeep Pickup.
