John and Inez Haver owned this Holyoke millinery shop in the early 1900s, which was described as “both an efficient and attractive substation of the big fashion marts of the East.” Mrs. Haver was known for making hats for women in the community for over 25 years. She personally made two trips east each year, before spring and fall openings, in order to make firsthand study of the styles. According to an article in the 1916 industrial edition of the Holyoke Enterprise, “a winning feature of the shop is a very fetching display of fine perfumes, lotions, powders and toilet goods.” — source: Phillips County Museum
