Former Holyoke teacher and current principal at Wray Elementary, Andrea Kammer of Holyoke was hired as principal at Holyoke Elementary School for 2018-19 at the May 1 Board of Education meeting.
Derek Doorn, who did clinicals at Melissa Memorial Hospital last year, has returned as Holyoke Family Practice’s newest family nurse practitioner. He began work May 7.

Following a conditional approval recommendation for NECO Wind by the Phillips County Board of Adjustments, Phillips County commissioners accepted the recommendation April 19 and granted the final conditional use permit for two projects — a wind generation facility southwest of Haxtun and the transmission line to carry the electricity to the Haxtun substation.
With two decades of teaching business and technology under her belt, Kristie Ham has decided that she is ready to throw in the towel at the conclusion of the school year and retire from HHS after 17 years of service.

Taking a big step forward in his career as a law enforcement officer, Gary Reeves will be leaving his position as Phillips County sheriff’s deputy to join the Holyoke Police Department as chief.
As the demand for wheat continues to decline, so does its price. According to Steve Young, grain merchandiser at Holyoke Co-op, the prices of wheat have been steadily plummeting for quite some time now.

The May 24 issue of the Holyoke Enterprise will mark the advent of a new process by which the Enterprise will be printed. The new process is offset printing, and all the typesetting will be done by a phototypesetter. The pages of the paper will be prepared in the Enterprise printing department, then they will be taken to Sterling, where the paper will be printed on the high-speed presses of the Journal-Advocate.
American Lung Association of Colorado will be the new name of the Colorado Tuberculosis and Respiratory Disease Association.

Foster Parker, president of the Holyoke Booster Club, has been informed that celebration of the completion of the transmission line to Holyoke will be held on June 11. He also stated that arrangements have been made for a carnival to be here for the celebration.
Mark U. Watrous, state highway engineer, announced last Thursday that a contract had been recommended for award to the Baab Construction Company and Carl V. Hill of Greeley. The project includes the straightening of the highway at the north end of Interocean Ave. and the construction of a steel bridge across the Frenchman Creek on Highway 51.
Mrs. Izora Dolezol, public health nurse, is now offering nursing services to Phillips County people, with the main office in the county commissioners room at the county courthouse. The nursing services are available to anyone regardless of financial standing, race or creed.
A total of 1,152 chest X-rays were taken in Phillips County during the four days of X-raying by the mobile unit.
