Phillips County’s sweetest babies and toddlers capture hearts

   The people have spoken, and the sweetest babies have been named. This year’s Baby Bear Hugs sweetest baby/toddler contest winners are Archie Cooper, first, Joaquin and Marqus Flores, second, and Kortlyn Carpenter, third.
    Each of the winners took home a basket full of goodies provided by generous donors.
    The annual contest raises funds for Baby Bear Hugs to continue carrying out its mission to provide parenting  education, support and connection to community resources to expectant parents and families with children ages 3 and under.
    During the summer, display boards with photos of each contestant were set up at the Holyoke Community Federal Credit Union and the Bar Lo Cafe in Haxtun. Jars corresponding with each photo allowed community members to leave money representing their vote for the sweetest entry. At the Phillips County Fair, the display was set up for the final voting opportunity.
