Phillips County housing needs assessed, 5-year plan outlined
Following community discussions and surveys, a five-year plan has been presented by Hanna:Keelan Associates for Phillips County to begin addressing its housing needs. At 132 pages, the assessment is not easily summarized, but it can be viewed in its entirety at www.colorado.gov/pacific/phillipscountyed/housing-needs-assessment.
The five-year plan is divided into four primary categories: housing partnerships and housing education; housing development, rehabilitation and preservation; impediments/barriers to fair housing; and housing study implementation and review.
One thing that’s expected to be particularly helpful is meeting with representatives from communities that have successfully completed their plans and learning from their success stories.
Any land owner, developer, investor or individual interested in serving on a committee should contact Phillips County Economic Development director Trisha Herman at 970-580-3614.
