Phillips County Raceway season underway

    The first night of races at Phillips County Raceway has the 2017 season off to a strong and exciting start. Despite nasty weather being right on the verge of spoiling the event, those faithful fans who attended Sunday, May 7, were not disappointed, and all the scheduled events were completed.
    Seventy-three cars came through the gate — the most in the last two years, according to raceway manager Joe Bellm. “The car count was great, and we’re still looking to grow,” he added.
    In addition to the regular IMCA lineup of modifieds, sport mods, stock cars, hobby stocks and compacts, Sunday’s event featured late models and dwarfs.
