A guest appearance by NASCAR great Kenny Schrader, concerts by Trent Hughes and Whiskey Kate, and good solid racing from High Plains late models, modifieds, stock cars, sport mods, hobby stocks and compacts will highlight the Independence Day Showdown at Phillips County Raceway at the fairgrounds in Holyoke Wednesday, July 4, starting at 5 p.m. sharp.
With a rain-out for the Father’s Day races, the July 4 event marks the midseason championship for the racing divisions. A potential make-up date for races is being considered for Friday, Aug. 3.
Raceway promoter Joe Bellm of bstracing.com is thrilled with the entertainment lineup for the 4th of July, leading to the City of Holyoke’s fireworks show at dusk.

Schrader returns to town
Schrader has made several appearances at PC Raceway in recent years, and Bellm is pleased that he’s returning to highlight the Independence Day Showdown.
Schrader currently races on local dirt and asphalt tracks around the country while driving part-time in the ARCA Racing Series, as well as at Eldora Speedway in the Camping World Truck Series.
