Readers book it at Heginbotham Library’s stick horse rodeo

    Both reading and the West proved to be fun at this year’s summer reading program. On Wednesday afternoons throughout the month of June, kids in fourth grade and younger gathered at Heginbotham Library for books, games and fun activities. Inspired by the theme “How the West was Fun,” the program featured such things as a campout and prairie living.
    On June 26, participants created their own stick horses out of pool noodles, which were then used for barrel racing and pole bending in a good old-fashioned rodeo. The 2019 summer reading program will wrap up July 3 with a chuckwagon finale.
