Region teams up for new Relay For Life event in Sterling

Fundraising kickoff party is next Tuesday, Feb. 7

Relay For Life returns under a new name this year: Relay For Life of Northeast Colorado.
The annual American Cancer Society fundraiser underwent some changes last year due to restructuring in the national nonprofit intended to put more money on cancer research and support. But organizers for the Phillips County and Logan County Relays worked to ensure that the event would continue to have a presence in the region, teaming up to form a new group that encompasses both counties. Anyone from northeast Colorado is invited to participate.
The 2017 Relay For Life of Northeast Colorado will be held Saturday, June 10, from 4 p.m. to midnight at the Logan County Courthouse in downtown Sterling.
The fundraising season officially begins Tuesday, Feb. 7, with a kickoff celebrating this year’s theme: “Game On!”
Participants and teams are invited to learn more about this year’s Relay and enjoy the dessert bar starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Sterling Nazarene Church, 1600 Sidney Ave.
Monthly team parties will be held on the first Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Sterling Nazarene.
