Reindeer fly in for pancakes with Santa

With Christmas getting ever closer, Santa and his crew are undoubtedly busy, but that didn’t stop them from taking some time to host the community of Holyoke for a pancake breakfast. The event was organized by Golden Plains Recreation Center and held at the Peerless last Saturday, Dec. 15.
Before guests even went into the building, they were greeted by the sound of sleigh bells and the sight of three reindeer outside. Dasher, Dancer and Prancer, under the care of Kyle Hendrix, were in a pen right on Interocean Avenue. Adults and children alike were excited to see the unique animals. Hendrix also had antlers and a real reindeer pelt that people could touch and look at and educational material for them to read. Though many asked about Rudolph, the lead reindeer was not present for this particular celebration.
Inside, Santa and Mrs. Claus heard numerous wish lists and posed for photos with the little ones.
