RRWCD to hold quarterly board meeting in Burlington

The Board of Directors of the Republican River Water Conservation District (RRWCD) will hold their quarterly meeting in the southeast meeting room at the Burlington Community Center, on Tuesday, Feb. 21, beginning at 10 a.m. The Burlington Community Center is located at 340 South 14th Street, Burlington, Colorado.

The board will review the minutes of the Nov. 15, 2022, quarterly board meeting, minutes of the special board meeting held on Jan. 5 and 6, and the minutes of the special virtual board meeting held on Jan. 25.

Reports to be given include Board President’s report, General Manager’s report, the District financial report for the end of 2022, an update on the number of acres retired in the South Fork Focus Zone and a report from the Compact Compliance Pipeline operator Tracy Travis. 

The board will also receive reports from board committees and associated organizations. The board will receive updates from the RRWCD’s water engineer, conservation program specialist, state and federal lobbyists and legal counsel. 

The public comment session will be held at 1 p.m. 

The board will receive reports from the State Engineer’s office and from Republican River Team Lead Commissioner Chris Kucera. Kari Linker, local representative for Senator Hickenlooper, James Thompson, from Senator Bennet’s office and Darlene Carpio, representing Congressman Buck’s office, will present reports from their respective offices for the federal legislators.
