Saturday to feature cars, shopping, antiques

    Residents and visitors of Holyoke and the surrounding area won’t be short on things to keep themselves busy this Saturday, June 23. The day is slated to include Dandelion Daze, Burlap and Lace, and a blast from the past auction.
    
Dandelion Daze
    The 18th annual Dandelion Daze car show will begin at 8 a.m., and most of the activities will be held on the Phillips County Court House lawn. There, car and bike registration will be open from 8-11 a.m., and show and shine will last until 3 p.m. Sign-up for the Melissa Memorial Hospital poker run is at 8 a.m.
    Breakfast burritos sold by FBLA will be available starting at 8:30 a.m. Exhibitor, craft and vendor booths will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and kids’ and family games will begin at 10 a.m. FBLA lunch will be available starting at 10:30 a.m.
    At 2:30 p.m., the car and bike show awards will be presented on the west courthouse steps, and at 3 p.m., the cars will cruise down Interocean Avenue to Regent Park care center.
    Off-site, a 5K run/walk sponsored by Holyoke Fitness Club and the City of Holyoke recreation department begins at 8:30 a.m. at City Park. Registration and check-in is from 7:45-8:15 a.m. The Phillips County Museum will also be open from noon-4:30 p.m.

Burlap and Lace
    The Burlap and Lace marketplace, hosted by Junque Gypsies, will have its seventh and final annual event Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at 106 S. Reynolds Ave.
    The open-air vintage, antique and artisan market and tag sale has become one of the area’s most notable pop-up shopping opportunities for one-of-a-kind pieces. A number of vendors will be set up, selling such things as repurposed furniture, glassware, jewelry, signs, yard art, rusted junk and plenty of other unique items.
    Trendy Acres Boutique will be on-site with fashionable clothing and accessories, and Rhonda’s Crepes will be there from 9-11 a.m.
    
Blast from the past auction
    Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Michael Auction Service will be holding a blast from the past auction at Phillips County Event Center.
    Auction-goers can expect to find items such as vintage signs and clocks, crocks, antique toys, engines, Longaberger baskets, implements, tins and more.
