Scarecrow tableau is a sign of the changing season

With October already flying by, Holyoke is beginning to look undeniably autumnal, from the natural changing of foliage to the Halloween decorations at homes and businesses. This particular scene in front of the Phillips County Court House is the Challengers 4-H Club contribution to National 4-H Week, celebrated Oct. 6-12. The six local clubs have decorations out across the county to promote 4-H and encourage enrollment, which opens Oct. 16.
