Services planned for Easter and more
Churches in and around Holyoke have a variety of services planned for Holy Week through Easter Sunday, April 9.
CNE at FCC, 310 S. Interocean Ave., will meet for their regular Spanish service at 7 p.m. on Good Friday.
Cornerstone Ministry Church, 212 S. Interocean Ave., will be watching the Flatirons Community Church service at the Peerless Theatre on Easter Sunday at 9 a.m.
Fairfield Covenant Church, north of Paoli on County Road 40 between county roads 17 and 19, will meet for an 8:30 a.m. breakfast, followed by an Easter Sunday service at 10 a.m.
First Baptist Church, 1000 E. Johnson St., has planned to join Vida Abundante for a 7 p.m. Good Friday service in both English and Spanish. On Easter Sunday, a sunrise service combined with Vida Abundante, in both English and Spanish, is set for 6:30 a.m. at the church, followed by a potluck breakfast.
First Christian Church, 310 S. Interocean Ave., will begin its Easter Sunday worship service at 10 a.m.
First United Methodist Church, 230 E. Furry St., will have a Maundy Thursday service at 6:30 p.m. The Good Friday service is at 6:30 p.m. at Pleasant Valley UMC, 13000 County Road 53, Yuma. Easter Sunday will begin with a sunrise service at Mount Baldy, south of Paoli at county roads U and 54, at 6 a.m., followed by breakfast and worship at 8 a.m. at Pleasant Valley. Holyoke UMC’s Easter Sunday service starts at 9:30 a.m.
Holyoke Assembly of God, 1220 S. Baxter Ave., will meet on Good Friday at 6:30 p.m. Easter Sunday will begin with breakfast at 9:30 a.m., followed by Easter service at 10:30 a.m.
Holyoke Church of Christ, 105 W. Scheunemann St., will meet on Easter Sunday at 9 a.m., followed by Bible class at 10 a.m.
Regent Park and Carriage House will meet on Easter Sunday at 2 p.m. for a worship service followed, by cookies and coffee.
St. Patrick Catholic Church, 541 S. Interocean Ave., will have an Easter vigil on Saturday at 8 p.m., and Mass on Easter Sunday begins at 8 a.m.
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amherst and Venango, Nebraska, will have combined services for Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m. in Amherst and for Good Friday at 7 p.m. in Venango. Easter Sunday services will be at 7 a.m. in Venango and at 9 a.m. in Amherst.
Venango Community Church, 112 Pennsylvania Ave., Venango, Nebraska, will meet on Easter Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Vida Abundante, 1000 E. Johnson St., will combine with First Baptist on Good Friday at 7 p.m. for a service in English and Spanish. They will combine again for an Easter Sunday sunrise service at 6:30 a.m., followed by breakfast. Vida Abundante will then have a 10:30 a.m. Spanish service at Camp Machasay, 61360 County Road 40, Amherst.
Zion Lutheran Church, 240 S. High School Ave., will meet for Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m., Good Friday at 7 p.m. and Easter Sunday at 9 a.m. The church is also holding noontime prayers Monday-Friday.
Zion Lutheran Church Ministerio Hispano, 240 S. High School Ave., will have a service in Spanish on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and on Easter Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
